The Uptown Neighborhood Initiative (UNI) is a grassroots, non-profit organization whose only focus is to improve the appearance, economy and ambience of the Uptown District of Corpus Christi. Uptown Neighborhood Initiative is comprised of commercial business owners, residents and other interested parties who reside in the district from Tancahua Street to Port Avenue, along the Leopard, Antelope, and Lipan Street Corridors.

Formed in December, 2009, the group’s goal is to clean up the area, improve the appearance of existing structures, create some excitement and pedestrian traffic…in other words, a place we can be proud to call our neighborhood!

Funded solely by donations from interested citizens, UNI is committed to taking back our neighborhood and making it grow.

City Bag Survey and Skip The Plastic Petition  by Neil McQueen, www.skiptheplastic.org
You may already know that City Staff will return to City Council chambers on May 22nd to present their proposal for dealing with plastic bag litter.  As part of their preparations, they are gathering input from the public through an online survey.  Please take a couple minutes to fill it out (see the link to the survey in the light green bar below the dark green banner): http://www.cctexas.com/solidwasteservices/

Also, we now have our Skip the Plastic petition for a single-use plastic bag fee posted online.  If you haven't already signed the petition, please do so here: https://www.change.org/petitions/corpus-christi-plastic-bag-ordinance   Thank you for helping to clean up Corpus Christi!
